Individual Telehealth Therapy
Irritability, anger, frustration, worry, isolation, and resentment can get in the way of being the person we want to be. These feelings can interfere with your functioning at work, at home, in your relationships, and with your children. Sometimes, new stressors can bring up old feelings from your past. Often times, especially when under stress, we default to familiar coping strategies. Sometimes those strategies do not work well.
There is hope and you can learn new ways of being.
I offer individual psychotherapy to adults who are experiencing overwhelming emotions. I am passionate about working with women, especially mothers. It can be difficult to do the work of therapy, but the hope of a better relationship with your children is a wonderful motivator

My Counseling Approach
My first goal is for you to feel comfortable working with me. You can expect a little bit of humor, lots of warmth, and even more realness. Each therapeutic relationship is unique and I can tailor my approach to your concerns, goals, culture, and personality. For example, if you are experiencing anxiety, I may help you learn and practice grounding techniques for anxiety and mindfulness. I am committed to providing multiculturally competent care and have worked with clients with a wide variety of racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds. I have advanced training in several different therapeutic approaches, but these are some of my personal favorites:

I meet with all clients online via secure video conferencing software. I know how hard it is to fit therapy into your busy life. The virtual telehealth format allows more people to access counseling. There are no transportation issues. You do not need to allow for travel time. Parents can have sessions while their children sleep without worrying about childcare.
Individual psychotherapy is often reimbursable by insurance.
I accept TRICARE East insurance as a non-network provider and file claims on your behalf.
For other insurance, I am happy to provide you with documentation which you may provide to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. To make sure you actually get reimbursed, please reach out to your health insurance company to ask about your out-of-network behavioral health benefits. You may want to ask specifically about CPT codes 90791 (initial session) and 90837 (follow-up session). Because sessions are virtual, you will want to make sure that your insurance company allows for telehealth for behavioral health services. Please ask if they have a preferred CPT code modifier for telehealth (usually “95” or “GT”) so I can be sure to list that modifier on the documentation I provide.
